MAG Ireland has always supported compulsory basic training for ALL road users.
Why?
Because both the EU & the Irish transport authorities have consistently used the historically high level of motorcycle casulaties as a justification to impose further unnecessary restrictions on motorcycle riders.
MAG Ireland recognises that the majority of motorcycle accidents involving another vehicle was not the riders fault, and we successfuly opposed the introduction of CBT for riders alone by arguing that the situation would only improve when compulsory basic training was introduced for ALL novice roads users.
