MAG Officers

MAG IrelandFollowing the 2016 EGM, the MAG Ireland board has seven elected members.

Each MAG Ireland board member is a volunteer, and each brings a particular skill set to the table. Volunteers give freely of their time and expertise for the benefit of members and the wider motorcycling community. 

The MAG Board meets monthly and is responsible for the day to day running of MAG Ireland. Board members are elected by simple majority vote at the annual general meeting, and any member of more than a years standing may be nominated for a role on the board in accordance with the MAG Ireland constitution.

Each board member has a specific role (or roles) on which they focus their individual efforts, and you’ll find these detailed below.

Peter BartlettName: Peter Bartlett
Role: Chair & European Liaison
Current Bike: 1986 GSXR1100


Bio: A stalwart of MAG Ireland, Peter has been riding since his teens. If we’re honest, even we don’t know how long ago that was. A MAG Ireland board member since 2001, Peter regularly attends FEMA meetings and MEP ride outs.

Name: Michael Noonan
Role: P.R.O.
Current Bike: Working on it


Bio: A recent addition to the board, Michael has a background in corporate law & brings long and distinguished track record of involvement with NGO’s to the MAG table. He’ll be flying the flag for the second time as P.R.O. for MAG Ireland.

Name: Proinnsias Breathnach
Role: Research & I.T.
Current Bike: BMW R1200RT

Bio: A busy dad who likes to tinker with bikes or computers depending on which he’s been longest without, Proinnsias has a fondness for heavy metal having owned a brace of R1200RT’s. He speaks fluent geek.

Name: Stuart Elder
Role: Research
Current Bike: Working on it


Bio: Now in his second year on the board, Stuart has previously been a member of MAG UK and continues to carry the research brief for MAG Ireland.

Name: Pat Whelan
Role: Industry Liaison

Bio: Pat has previously served a term on the 2012 board as insurance liaison in which role he helped to establish clear lines of communication with the insurance companies. He returns to the board to extend and develop this aspect of the organisation.

Bio: Chris brings a wealth of management experience to the board of the Irish Motorcyclists’ Association.

Bio: Kevin is an RSA approved ADI and also volunteers with Blood Bikes as a rider in which role he puts his RoSPA Gold qualification to good use.
