Formed in 1999 by a group of experienced motorcyclists within the Irish Motorcyclists’ Action Group (MAG Ireland), the Irish Rider Training Association (IRTA) exists to encourage the provision of “accessible, affordable and high-quality” motorcyclists’ rider training throughout the Republic of Ireland.

Fingal County Council Star Rider Training
Fingal County Council's Road Safety section runs an award-winning motorbike training programme: the Star Rider programme set up by their Road Safety Officer, Seamus Kelly. Courses are divided into the following categories:
Bronze Star - 4 hour off road course for beginners
Silver Star - a 12 hour course bringing the rider beyond test standard
Gold Star - a 12 hour course for experienced riders
The above link is to the press release about the award they won from the National Safety Council as there doesn't seem to be any info on the rest of the Fingal Co Co site about this programme. You can phone them on 8905824. If you have your own bike, the waiting period to get on a 12hour programme is 4-6 weeks. Otherwise it can take around 16 weeks.
