Road Hazards

The motoring public is, daily, faced with potholes, sunken roads, badly repaired roads, gravel and debris, poorly maintained street furniture, inconsistent speed limits, confusing signposting, mileages in kilometres and miles, missing signs, bad road markings, and a whole catalogue of failure and neglect.  All the unmistakable mark of a civil service that has no planned program for roads maintenence.

A typical Experience Of an Irish Motorcyclist

So what can we do about this, well with respect to the Co Councils they do repair/clean roads when they are informed by the public of problems with them. Having members of the public inspect roads for the councils does not let them off the hook from their duties of inspecting the roads in the first place, but being a motorcyclist you will probably notice dangerous roads/surfaces a lot quicker than any other type of road user, be them council employees or not.

When you come across a dangerous road situation please use the
Post a Road Hazard form to post same to MAG. We will then notify your local authority of the hazard and hopefully avert a potentially serious incident.
Alternatly you can print out the Notification Of Road Hazard form, and Post it to the address of of your local county manager, send a copy to us at the MAG office and we will persue same for you..
