Drafts with request for overpayment returned when selling bike
Hello. Just want to give a warning to people who are or plan on selling their bike on the buy and sell. I have my varadero 125cc on it at the moment and have gotten mails from some guy giving me offers without even seeing the bike. He bargained with me and asked the usual questions but seemed concerned about payment and the use of bank drafts.
Apparently what they do is send you a dodgy bankers draft with an extra amount on it (agreed on €3000 but check for €3500) and then ask that you send back the difference. I wouldn't of done this but I'm sure some people have otherwise they wouldn't keep doing this. I've since found out that a friend selling a bike on the buy and sell got the same kind of mails. They seem to chase people selling bikes and animals? At least you know not to waste your time with them if it does happen to you. Cheers.

BANK DRAFT WARNING 12.03.04
We have been advised by a member that counterfeit bank drafts are being offered in payment for motorbikes advertised through the Buy and Sell. The man who passed the forged draft to our member seems to be operating in the Ashbourne & Laytown areas.Beware of this scam as the forgeries are of exceptionally good quality, with watermark etc.

Bike Theft Warning 02.04.04
Hi, I don't have my member ID with me at the moment, let me know if you need it and I will e-mail it to you. Just to let you know that there had been a couple of incidents (theft and suspicious activity) in the Blanchardstown\mulhuddart area over the last two or three weeks, specially around the Ballycoolin corporate park\business park\industrial state.
A bike was taken from the car park in our office in the middle of the day three weeks ago, the thieves were obviously well organised as it took them seconds (literally) to brake the locks, start the engine and drive it off. We have observed a white van driving around in and out of car parks around the area, the occupants seemed to be scoping out the bikes there. We have heard the same from people in other offices around. It seems that we might have some sort of organised group of thieves in the area.
I though it would be a good idea to let you know in case you want to pass the info to local groups, etc...

Beware Of Bike Thieves 03.04.04
In the early hours of Tuesday, 24th of February, someone broke into my house in the Blanchardstown/Clonee area trying to steal my bike. They managed to get my helmet, jackets and a couple of sets of gloves and my housemates car (they found the keys). Luckily, they didn't get my keys and therefore my bike. I've also seen a white van around, but I guess there are a lot of white vans.
