Please send photographs of dangerous road conditions in your area to the MAG office, or by email to webmaster@magireland.org

This picture shows another fine example of the standard of consistency that is found in our signposting throughout the country. The motorist is faced with a dilemna.  Which should he do?  Reduce speed to 40 or to 30?  Which is legally implementable?
Notes:
1. There is another 40mph post on the left side of the road.
2. Other approaches to the village have signposts showing 30mph, and the 30mph painting on the road surface.

The signposts have been blanked out to protect the guilty.  Fortunately, due to the diligence of a MAG member, this disaster of a road junction was re-surfaced within a week of a complaint to the county council involved.  WHY SHOULD HE HAVE TO?  If a motorcyclist had skidded on the 2 inches of gravel and stones and was killed, would the garda report have said "motorcyclist travelling too fast"???  The adjacent area of deep potholes and lunar-like surface made this one of the most dangerous junctions ever seen.
