better ringing a MAG representative, the DOE Driver Testing
Section, your local motorcycle dealer or the Yellow Pages first.
The MAG Office will help with your queries where possible but
doing so reduces the time available to administer MAG for

General News Items
Ireland to have second car-free day
Ireland will again participate in European Car Free Day. The
number of Irish cities and towns involved has doubled to ten.
Dublin, Cork, Galway, Limerick, Waterford, Sligo, Castlebar,
Greystones, Dublin South and Clonmel will all restrict the use of
cars on Saturday, September 22nd, 2001.
MAG will be doing a stand in Dublin to take advantage of the
chance to promote the motorcycling option. Volunteers to man the
stand and be nice to the public are very welcome. Contact MAG
Dublin or the MAG Office for details.
Other local groups are also encouraged to do likewise.
Minister of State at the Department of the Environment and Local
Government Mr Dan Wallace said Ireland's role in European Car
Free Day affirmed "Ireland's commitment to the development of a
cleaner, healthier urban environment". Speaking at the
announcement of the event in Cork, Mr Wallace said the day is "an
opportunity to explore alternatives to the single-occupancy
private car as a mode of transport".
Did the government just say "be a biker" ?

Getting MAGLink and passing it on
To receive MAGLink every month by email (free) send a blank
message to imag_info-subscribe@yahoogroups.com
It costs MAG almost 10 pounds a year of member's money to have
someone on the postal list and that money can be better spent
fighting for riders rights. If you can get MAGLink by email
instead then please do so and tell us.
Download MAGLink in Microsoft Word RTF format from:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/IMAG_INFO/files
(it is easier to read and looks better on paper than the email-
friendly text version)
Please forward your copy of MAGLink to other motorcyclists and
please print out a few copies to drop into your local dealer /
pub / friends without email.
